Dusty Negatives

You may have noticed a little rebranding of the site if you have been here before. Maybe it’s your first visit and you have no idea what I am talking about… It really doesn’t matter. The site content will be more or less the same. Me sharing my thoughts on photography.

I have been thinking about this for some time now. I had brought back an old site idea back to life. One from my days of doing graphic design work under the guise of onecreativesource. It is now time to retire that old cover as I focus my creative energies into the world of photography.

Dusty Negatives is an idea that I have been playing around with for years as film photography all but died off in the early 2000’s and digital cameras crushed the film giants. It seems fitting as I am getting back into film and rekindling my passion for photography that the dusty negatives are indeed part of the creative process. Luckily for us the old negatives and contact sheets have aged better than my computers and digital cameras as those devices become obsolete. Film has made a little bit of a comeback, some say it’s a niche market and I am quite happy with that. I’ve heard that the film industry is operating at 2% of what it was at its peak in the early 2000’s. I am ok to be in the 2%!

A snippet of what is most likely my first contact sheet from my first roll of 35mm film, Autumn 1996

Take care and happy shooting,

Jeremy
